mechanism
Anger is a mobilization response. It fires when another party violates something you consider yours: a boundary, a rule, an agreement, your time. The brain reads the violation as a threat that force can correct, so adrenaline rises, blood moves to the arms, and attention locks on the violator. This is why anger feels active and pushes you toward the other party, unlike fear, which pushes you away from the threat.
not to confuse with
frustrated: the goal is blocked, but nobody crossed you · irritated: no single hit, the fuse is thin from background drain · betrayed: the deal was broken by someone you counted on, and it hurts more than it angers · envious: they have it and you want it: a compass, not a violation
in the body
heat in the face and chest, the jaw tightens, fists close, the voice gets louder
feel it
Do not push it down and do not wind it up. Find where the charge stands: chest, arms, jaw. Give it two or three minutes to simply be there, watching it like a wave. A charge you have seen and named stops steering your hand.
what to do
Release the adrenaline with one physical action, or spend it on defending what was crossed: one clear message, one fix. This screen walks you through both.
don't
no messages in the first minutes · do not carry the charge for hours: it burns you, not them · act, do not lecture
if you do nothing
The adrenaline gets no exit: you replay the scene, tension holds for hours, sleep gets worse, and the other party is not affected at all. The boundary stays broken, so the same violation returns, and each repeat teaches you that your anger changes nothing.
after
rate it again at the close: the drop is the tool's receipt · a third time with the same person or theme is a pattern, not an episode
